DMCA Policy

Last updated: June 10, 2026 · We take copyright seriously and respond within 24 hours.

Overview

SnagReel respects the intellectual property rights of others and complies with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and other applicable intellectual property laws. This policy explains how copyright owners can submit takedown notices and what happens when we receive a valid notice.

⚠️ Important Clarification:

SnagReel does not host any video content on its servers. We are a link-processing tool that accesses publicly available content from third-party CDNs. If you wish to remove content from YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook, you must submit takedown requests directly to those platforms. However, if our tool is being used to facilitate access to your copyrighted content, you may request we block the URL pattern using the process below.

1. Our DMCA Agent

To submit a DMCA takedown notice, contact our designated DMCA Agent:

  • DMCA Agent: SnagReel Legal Team
  • Email: dmca@snagreel.com
  • Response Time: Within 24 hours for valid notices

2. Requirements for a Valid DMCA Takedown Notice

To be valid under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3), your written notification must include all of the following:

  1. Identification of the copyrighted work:
A description of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed. If multiple works are covered by a single notification, provide a representative list.
  2. Identification of the infringing material:
A description of the material you claim is infringing and that you want removed, with enough detail for us to locate it. Include the specific URL(s) if applicable.
  3. Your contact information:
Your full name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
  4. Good faith statement:
A statement that you have a good faith belief that the disputed use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  5. Accuracy statement:
A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notification is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner.
  6. Physical or electronic signature:
Your physical or electronic signature (typing your full name constitutes an electronic signature).

3. What Happens After We Receive Your Notice

Upon receipt of a valid and complete DMCA notice, we will:

  1. Acknowledge receipt of your notice within 24 hours
  2. Review the notice for completeness and validity
  3. If valid, take appropriate action within 5 business days, which may include blocking the ability to process the specific URL pattern through our tool
  4. Notify the user who attempted to use the infringing URL (if applicable and where possible)
  5. Document the notice in our repeat infringer tracking system

4. Counter-Notification

If you believe your content was removed in error or misidentification, you may submit a counter-notification. A valid counter-notification must include:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature
  2. Identification of the material that was removed and the location where it appeared before removal
  3. A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief that the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification
  4. Your name, address, and telephone number
  5. A statement that you consent to jurisdiction in the federal district court for your address, or if outside the United States, any judicial district in which SnagReel may be found

Submit counter-notifications to dmca@snagreel.com with the subject line "DMCA Counter-Notification."

5. Repeat Infringer Policy

SnagReel maintains a policy to terminate, in appropriate circumstances, users or usage patterns that are repeat infringers of intellectual property rights. We track DMCA notices and take escalating action for repeated violations, including permanent IP-level blocks.

6. False DMCA Claims

Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material or activity is infringing may be subject to liability for damages, including costs and attorneys' fees incurred by the alleged infringer, us, or the copyright owner. Do not submit false or bad-faith DMCA claims.

7. Submitting Your DMCA Notice

Email your complete DMCA takedown notice to: dmca@snagreel.com

Use the subject line: "DMCA Takedown Notice — [Your Name/Company] — [Date]"

Alternatively, you can use our Contact form and select "DMCA / Copyright Takedown" as the subject.

8. Direct Platform Takedowns

As SnagReel does not host video content, the most effective way to protect your copyright is to submit takedown requests directly to the platforms hosting the content:

  • YouTube: YouTube Copyright Removal
  • TikTok: TikTok Copyright Policy
  • Instagram: Instagram Copyright Reporting
  • Twitter / X: X Copyright Policy
  • Facebook: Facebook Rights Manager
